Sometimes life, just swoops you up into it's swirly whirlwind.. and just as quickly as you can utter: "there is no place like home" you are distributed back down on to terra firma. Most likely with an unglamorous thud.
That, is precisely how I am feeling now. Slightly dishevelled. Slightly tired. Slightly: "holy shiz balls, did that even HAPPEN?"
If I also seem a little unsteady on my feet, well that's because this Lucky Loz has an ear infection.
In both ears.
I know. L-u-c-k-y.
In the midst of The Lurg of 2012, we were also in full preparation mode for {design:made:trade}
It quite possible, was the hardest of weeks. We plowed on through and before we knew it, it was Show Day.
Wednesday.
Chris' dad and sister trekked down the highway, to lend a much needed hand. Aunty Julie was wrangling the reigns of the toddler.. while Grandpa Adrian helped weave trolley loads of furniture through the Royal Exhibition Building.
Little did I know, The Lurg strikes II was rearing it's menacing head.
Thursday
Zero sleep. I think my ear drum was about to burst. I cried. I tossed and turned. I made another blimmin' appointment at the doctors. Sinusitis and an pretty horrific ear infection. Hooray. Did I mention that I had also lost the ability to hear out of said ear? I know. Lucky Loz.
Meanwhile, Chris was across town debuting his furniture for the first day of trade. Through the foggy daze of cold & flu.. I was ten types of excited/proud/exstatic.
That night, my awesome Mum.. landed in Melbourne. Mum hugs solve everything. I had an awesome sleep.. and prepared my self.. For Show Day.
Friday
Friday, was awesome. We had such a buzz happening. Talking with enthusiastic people. Showing off Chris' amazing designs. Wheeling and dealing. Making contacts. Trying not to fall over with my unbalanced ears. Surviving purely on coffee and cold & flus.
None of it mattered. It was awesome. The response was fantastic. Beyond our wildest dreams. Smiles from ear to ear.
The best really... well that was yet to come.

You tease!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that you got attacked by this crappy winter again - but I sense (hope) that there's a fairytale ending coming though!
:-) xx
I hate not getting sleep. You just feel like crap.
